This is actually something that i should have done ages ago (okay maybe when I first received my box) but didn't really clicked on well maybe during the times that I was a bit bored and thinking of something else new to do.
I got curious when I see people, mostly on facebook, instagram or tumblr raving about these beauty boxes subscription. I found one that caught my eye and subscribed to Birchbox. They send you 5 sample sizes of beauty and/or health products every month to try out instead of buying the whole product size. For some it's a waste of money, for others it's a good way to try out products whether to love 'em or ditch 'em without fully crying over something you bought because it sounds and looks good, but then finding out later that it's not. I have been a victim of those, sadly so many times.
I'm not a beauty guru or something like that at all. I just like pampering myself, a way for me to feel good after being so stressed at work. And well I just like... okay love beauty products, especially bath & body items, skincare and nail products. These are just myx I guess short review for each.
I started subscribing last August and got these samples in my first birchbox
1. Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub Sea Kelp + CGF
I haven't mentioned before that I do have sensitive skin, so I'm really picky when trying out new facial products. After trying out this product, I fell in love with it. It is grainy, but it doesn't feel harsh to my skin. And woohoo no skin reactions \o/ (feel like a test rat lol) Skin felt smooth and soft afterwards. You don't (well I for one) need to use a lot of it, so a bottle could go a long way. Would highly recommend, affordable scrub/exfoliator.
2. Number 4 Super Comb & Protect
It's a leave on conditioner. It smells bad, I didn't use if after that (I did say I'm not a guru)
3. Not Soap, Radio Joy Inducing (formerly Happiness Inducing) Body Wash
Another product that I fell in love with my August box. I love body washes especially those that makes my skin feels smooth and makes me feel clean. And as the name suggests, it does make me smile with its sweet lemony scent. Lol, and it just dawned on me, the scent makes me also feel clean. Association with those lemon scented cleaning products, except that this one smells sweet. Redundant much. Something I would purchase in the future. I'm still a big fan on cocoa and shea butter body wash products.
4. Benefit They're Real! Push up liner.
I read so much hype, or more of like excitement from current subscribers for this item, but after using it, too sticky and didn't really worked out too well for me. I guess I'll stick with my Revlon liquid liner lol.
5. Harvey Prince Hello (spritz/perfume)
First impression is that why perfume? I'm not a big fan of those. Mainly because I can't really use it for work. The smell is sweet and light, good for going out with, day oe night, with friends or family kinda thing. As usual, I guess the rule with perfumes is don't put on too much because you'll smell like something else. (My friend used on of my pefumes and sprayed it all over herself, made me so dizzy). Bought one for a friend (no, not the same one that uses it like bath water), this would suit her more than me.
So far first box was a good one, I know I missed some stuff here that hopefully I'll try to get to poke in my next post. All items are available at the birchbox website.
