On getting sick

I don't get sick often, not rare but uncommon. The most would be a cough then would go away in a few days, 3 at most. Unfortunately for me, this time around my defense was down.
At first it started with my sister coughing around, then my mom but after that has passed I got scotch free. A few weeks later I started to get the cough but before it gets worse I took prevention like drinking more Vitamin C and stuff. During this time I'm still working as it's not bad. But after I went home after a shift my body just crashed. I'm not having any fever because I've been drinking Tylenol for body aches but I'm basically coughing weirdly (whistling cough), having shortness of breath, and literally puking phlegm  (yes it is gross).
Sadly getting an appointment with my primary would take weeks so I went to a clinic.
I tried not to laugh my ass off because I was coughing up a storm. Hacking whistling coughs non-stop. When the doctor came in she was wearing a N95 mask. (Usually used for TB patients). I'm like wtf... but then when the doctor heard me up close and not through doors that's when she noticed my weird coughing and after some assessments diagnosed me with Bronchitis.
I'm not surprised since this isn't my first time with it. I already figured it out when the puking started. Almost every 2-3 years I'll have an attack like this though this. Though when it does it's not very kind. And I have multiple embarrassing incidents because of it. This time around I hid so I'm safe.
For those who aren't familiar with Bronchitis, I'll save you the googling. It's when bronchioles are inflamed, closing up with phlegm and coughs, sometimes accompanied by an infection. Majority is viral so antibiotics won't do shit.
So my doctor gave me an inhaler, Zomgah I almost cried because I kid you not, I really can't breathe like I'm drowning. And just in case to cover that minority, prescribed me an antibiotic. Plus I can continue my Tylenol Cold Max and Vit C supplement.
So far my disease experience this time around...
- The feeling of drowning without being underwater
- coughing up a storm to scare the shit out of my parents
- feeling like a rooster waking up everyone at 3-4 am, coughing up for at least 30 mins (I'm not joking, thankfully that stopped yesterday)
- Used up 18 boxes of tissue, no I'm not taking about those small boxes, and still counting. When I say puking, I really am.
- As much as I want to run to the sink, coughing/puking every 5 mins, add the fact that I'm having shortness of breathe plus feeling weak. It's the best alternative for me. Really weak that I had to wrestle the cover off a box
- Having to change the waste basket lining up to 3 times per day, and that includes me already stuffing/pushing in the trash more
- Covered up in vaporub and sweat, being unable to shower properly because I can't catch a chill or the fits will start
- The fits will also start with any irritants, I had to hold and cover when opening the corrugated side of the tissue box and sometimes my throat feels like there's dust in the water... oh ugh even the tissue, I get no escape. The little, tiniest, insy wincy specks of paper
- I'm also puking food with so much pressure when I cough
- poor appetite, my sugar's whacked  (I am diabetic)
- sleep deprived
- missed days of work which means I don't get paid

There's more that I probably missed but as usual I am already blabbering.
I am being shown no mercy and hopefully I get better soon. I have missed taking care of myself, my face is hairy.
In a weird coincidence, every time someone calls me I'm in the middle of a coughing fit

Another road block or a bump

I guess when the time that you don't feel like going to work, that is the time you try to find a new one. I love doing what I'm doing but my current one leaves me battered both physically and mentally, and leaves my patience glass to always empty every shift. Some can handle this but I'm feeling like jumping to something else less demanding.
They kept telling me I'm young but I feel ancient. No motivation to work, not counting the fact that almost everyone needs a paycheck.
I still have a contract with my work ): sadly a couple more months... Hopefully I got a transfer soon...

Left or Right?

Since I'm right handed, doing things with my left hand is a bit work for my brain and challening. I had to constantly remind ( and the slight discomfort with the right) my self to use left.
2/5 of my siblings are left handed, 3/5 right and 2/3 are ambidextrous, then we have weird quirks.
Eldest son is mostly left, too left handed it's challenging for him to drive, but if he concentrate he does write using his right. Second son, is right handed but he dribbles with left during basketball games. Third son is right handed but he's the other ambidextrous, doesn't need to concentrate or anything, and holds 2 pens, one on each hand. Came in handy since we grew up without the aide of laptops at school. When his right hand is tired taking notes, he'll just switch. (Jelly!!! Our teachers and professors loves to make us write tons of stuff)
Eldest daughter is right, but tends to lean on the left. Second daughter is left handed, and too left handed too. Didn't learn how to write with her right.
Why some of my brothers are ambi, is because of how they were raised. My aunt would make them us their right hand because it's "not normal". Since sister is the youngest by a chunk of years, she didn't experience much of being raised by our aunt and even though my Mom kept denying it, we know she was and still is spoiled.
Right now, I envy my third brother. With my injury things I normally do well are slower and doesn't inflict pain.
[So much left and right, I reached my quota. Haha]

Absurdity...

Called in sick today because I injured my wrist, sprained or pulled a muscle... whatever... I can type and move my fingers but it hurts when I put pressure or lift things. Yes even opening/closing doors.
I heal fast, as long as I get to rest the wrist. It's like having leg cramps, lasts awhile but I'll be fine after a day or two. I'm only asking to be called off tonight since after this shift I'll be back Sunday or Monday night, just enough days to get it back to working condition. I'm not asking to be off for 3 days. I find it absurd to have a MD's note for a day and it's giving me a headache thinking about it.
Seriously that charge nurse has some power issues. I like to rub in her face my doctor's note when I see her next.

Brain's trippin

Ugh 3 times I woke up, 3 times due to bad dreams. Not necessarily nightmares, just bad and weird dreams. Lol! My brain's trippin' from stress.
First off it was due to a haunted house and for a lack of a better description... monsters.
Second one, this I don't remember much since I was like, "WTF, I'm going back to sleep"
Third was being in The Amazing Race with some random partner with weird rules... to get our first clue we have to choose a side of a wall and follow it to our clue. Instead of having equal level of difficulty or something like that one is a shorter choice and another long. After getting our clue with a list of stuff, we ran to some place +.+ change of scenery to be in my old high school and in school uniforms, with a loud group of girls with no respect to the ongoing classes with freaking slippery floors... In my head, (in my dreams... lol) Move it along bitches this is a competition, stop being lazy assess... then I woke up

Weird thing, just because it's not really the norm is that I remember some of these dreams.

The stuff of nightmares..

I'm gonna put it here before I forget.
My brain went nuts and went Jurassic Park and Resident Evil on me while sleeping.
So we we're  (I don't know but the folks in with) living in a simple house when the alert came in, that wild animals got out. First we barricaded the house against them but then I remembered that we have two vehicles more of like armored cars equipped with weaponry of some sort. I took one and have one passenger with me. [Special cameo of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who took the other car] Then out of the blue we ended up in front of a white mansion with glazed tinted window  (?) full of infected folks and my armored car turned into a one person armored suit.
some reason or another, I felt like I was working in that place trying to find cure. My passenger went stupid on me and annoyed an infected which in turn got agitated and ran after him and I have to save his ass against the infected.  Then I woke up because I was angry due to his stupidity.

Before that I remember my other dream with me being a mermaid with a merman husband and we can turn our fishtails into legs at whim. No Ursula needed. Or magic clams... shells...

Yeah unconscious mind had fun and I remembered it, and putting it  down here before I forget.
Even though I woke up abruptly, I felt like I had good sleep.

Praying For Patience

As a nurse, one aside from knowing your stuff and being caring, you need a LOT of patience. You will have patients who aren't being patient either and are always needy and demanding, and they do know you have other patients that need your care and attention too.

Tiring week

The week is not yet over but I'm tired already. Schedule's full this week and I'm dead tired. My feet feels numb and painful. instead of me getting some rest even for a day I haven't or rather the day where I planned to rest got ruined by someone who doesn't act like his age. To make it short he's really an idiot. He's doesn't use that brain. It's really frustrating to deal with him most of the times. I admit I'm to practical but that keeps me sane and feel secure. I've outgrown the days when I don't think or not plan things ahead. Having a safety net or plan b keeps me less stressed because I know there's something I can fall back to.
Times like now,  today,  you have to learn how to control. Less of this, learn to say no. It maybe hard in the beginning but is something that is important to know and do. You can't forever live that way. People aren't always going to be there for you,  maybe that sounds harsh for some but when times get rough those people you call friends will choose what's important to them and chances are you're not on the top of their list.
It's really sad, he's hardworking but he doesn't know how to manage well. More sad, is that I have to deal with it because he doesn't listen. He refuses to listen.
I pray that it doesn't last long. It adds more to my stress and me closer to death.

I'm crazy...

I thought a 3 continuous shift was crazy enough, this time I did 4shifts straight. My legs still has to recuperate.  I know some does more like having 2 jobs, working straight days but it's really taxing to the body and mind.
I'm just a regular folk not a superhero or have massive amount of energy. I really admire those who work like that and get sometimes not enough pay to survive.
That aside I'm happy my boxes arrive to help with charge up my dwindling energy.

Coughs and runny nose

So basically I've been sick for quite awhile. I'll get well... for a couple of hours then it'll be back. I like the work, truly, but I need a break cuz I'm not getting well. Sadly I can't. For a list of reasons.
Right now I'm lacking sleep, been awake since 4am, hopefully I'll last through my shift or get flexed, I don't really mind being this sick. Or get called off today, but i doubt it. (Sighs...)
